The team behind Presse Café – We're launching this new series with Jocelyne Daoud, our Executive Assistant
When you ask Jocelyne how long she has been working at the Presse Café (even though we cannot even remember when she wasn't there), she surprises herself by answering since 2004. "Ten years! Ten years that have gone by so fast – like a dream!"
Being the president's assistant is no small feat. But above all, Jocelyne is considered the office's non-official mom! "People sometimes say that I am Marcel's mom. Imagine being the mom of our president! I think I look more like his older sister – but not his mom! I am not that old," answers Jocelyne with a laugh.
Her definition of taking a breather? Reading, walking, gardening, and cooking.
Her biggest hit in the kitchen? Her shortbread biscuits. She's always ready to whip up four dozen biscuits to treat children that come to visit her. "The kids leave with a small box of cookies. The recipe is really easy...butter and sugar. Only good things! And it's homemade!" It's not surprising that kids almost harass their parents on a daily basis to visit Jocelyne again!
Her favorite color? Marine blue – because it is "chic".
When asked about her most memorable moments at the Presse Café in the last ten years, even though she is concerned about being "cheesy", she immediately replies that her fondest memories are when she sees all the company's franchisees brimming with hopes and dreams of building a successful Presse Café franchise.
Jocelyne is our president's assistant and the mom of both the office and two children of her own. Jocelyne always gets a standing ovation at our annual general meetings. She is the friendly voice on our answering machine and the editor of this blog. Jocelyne can do everything. With a smile, of course!
